Latitude Festival Recycling 2011
V C Cooke helps with festival recycling

Firm pitches in to help with Latitude clear-up
A waste recycling company from Ellough has taken on the task of sorting through the remains of the Latitude music festival's 200 tonnes of recycling, catering and camping waste.
V C Cooke, based on Ellough Road, has received all the waste from nearby Henham Park and are separating plastics, cans, cardboard and paper for recycling in Norfolk: even clothes and tents have been pulled out.
Jon wells, transport and operations manager said he hoped the waste could be further reduced. He added " The policy of banning glass and re-using plastic cups on the park during the festival has helped this year but more shared transport would discourage abandoned camping equipment, and perhaps smaller food protions would reduce waste"
Henham Park landowner, Hektor Rous rolled up his sleeves after the festival ended and pitched in with staff from event organisers Festival Republic for the unenviable task of cleaning up.
"In a couple of week's time you'll barely know ther was a festival here", he said. "It always looks worse than it is immediately afterwards".
