V C Cooke Wins EDP Community Impact Award 2011
Based at Ellough near Beccles, waste management company V C Cooke was judged to be a worthy winner in a category where all the finalists clearly took seriously the issue of their involvement in the community.
V C Cooke puts this ethos into practice and has an impressive involvement within the local community across a wide range of projects of all sizes. Its work in schools and education is particularly noteworthy. Coupled with its measurable policies around community work within its wider business strategy means V C Cooke is a worthy winner.

Green Apple Award
Our sustainable recycling initiatives have also been recognised. V C Cooke has been awarded two gold winning trophies from the prestigious Green Apple environmental group, collecting a third one presented at the House of Commons in November 2011 for giving support to local community projects. Chamber of Commerce Awards
V C Cooke wins three awards
V C Cooke of Ellough continues to raise environmental standards in Suffolk, achieving three trophies at the prestigious Lowestoft and Waveney Chamber of Commerce Business Awards on December 2nd 2010.
Firstly winning the "Essex & Suffolk Water Community Impact Award", achieved for waste minimisation and recycling schemes in local businesses and schools, as well as supporting a wide range of community projects.
Secondly, singled out in the "Peter Aldous MP Business Investment Award" for creating employment and attracting resources into the area.
The third award was achieved for overall customer satisfaction in the "M R King & Sons Award for Excellence in Customer Service"
V C Cooke general manager Jon Wells was obviously delighted with the accolades commenting that "the training and investment in waste sorting technology to improve efficiency has really paid off". He added "customers expect better service and more information about the waste content that we go the extra mile to provide".
