V C Cooke operates a Materials Recycling Facility at its 25 acre site just outside Beccles. With over 50 years experience in the industry, we welcome your enquiries and would be pleased to discuss all aspects of waste disposal and recycling.

About us

Acquired in September 2008, V C Cooke is a well established name in waste management and recycling. Operating independently as part of The Associated Waste Group, our company is driving forward in it's mission to become the premier Materials Recycling Facility in East Anglia.

• Delivery of products including highest quality topsoil, clay and crushed aggregates
• Smaller 1 ton bags of products including grade 1 topsoil, crushed brick, chipped wood, sand and are sold in our marketplace at Ellough, with a percentage of profits donated to local charities.*

BS ENO 14001 environmental standard and corporate social responsibility policies assures sustained growth

V C Cooke has planned full accreditation to BS ENO 14001 in quarter 3 of 2010
This follows on from achievement of ISO 9001 and "Investors in People" accreditation during 2009 in our first full year of trading since becoming part of the Associated Waste Group.

V C Cooke is committed to continual improvement in quality and minimising the environmental impact of our own and our partners operations.

All waste received at our 25 acre site in Ellough is thoroughly sorted ensuring that ALL recyclables and removed. These materials are then sent to specialist recycling companies with emphasis on UK processing wherever possible.

The remaining 16% of waste is processed using the latest technology to ensure that quantities for landfil are minimised to achieve our target of ZERO landfill.
Energy and emissions management continue to reduce our carbon footprint.

Recognised Best Practice

Staff safety is extremely important to us and to ensure we maintain the highest standards, professional health and safety training is provided on an ongoing basis, continually exceeding all legal requirements

In 2009 all staff achieved NVQs including driving and plant operations, site management and recycling. We pride ourselves in our progessive approach to the development of staff and have also provided skills for life training with further courses booked for 2010.

We are thoroughly inspected on a regular basis by The Environment Agency, VOSA, and Trading Standards to ensure we comply with Best Practice in his heavily regulated industry. In addition to this we welcome customers and prospects visiting the site to carry out their own best practice audits.
